Program guidelines that MUST be met to participate in our program

1. Cats must be unowned stray or feral cats under the care of the caretaker who provides food, water, shelter, and veterinary care, when necessary. Tame or semi-tame cats and kittens who will be placed as pets DO NOT qualify for our services.

2. Participants must have legal access to the property on which the cats live.

3. Cats must arrive at our clinic in standarh humane box traps. One cat per trap. NO CARRIERS or homemade traps.

4. Cats must be dropped off at the clinic when instructed and picked up the same day.

5. Caretakes must be available by phone at all times on the day of the clinic in case of emergency.

6. Participants must agree to return the cats to their original colony and provide care for them as described above.

7. Cats with visible signs of disease (runny nose or eyes, sneezing) will not be admitted to the clinic. We strongly suggest seeking private veterinary services, and registering these cats for a future HCMT clinic when they regain their strength.

8. Caretaker must agree that the cats who test positive for FeLV (testing is optional, and available for a small donation) will be humanely euthenized at the clinic to prevent the spread of this deadly disease to other cats in the colony.
